Harley Chronicles

Image
It's a low rumbling, V-twin, Harley song; Beckoning my name at the crack of dawn. As the V-twin pistons roll, Begging the question, “For whom does our low rumble toll?” It’s speaks to me on my pathos side, Calling me out, “it’s time to ride.” The Eastern sky is turning light, While the Western is still bathed in the cool of night. The taillights are lit up red and the handlebars are smooth, That Harley song’s lyric is a simple, “it’s time to cruise.” I zip up my Harley Owner’s Group coat and take in a deep breath. My heartbeat matches the rumble, and my body is feeling at rest. image source: https://www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/harley-davidson-logo-blank.jpg

Pouring Salt in American Wounds

It's Tuesday, October 17, 2017. A nice Pennsylvania fall day that is crisp, not quite chilly, with blue skies and just a touch of a breeze to make the tops of trees swing. As I look around, I can't help but think.. Ah crap! Russia meddling in the U.S. election was/is real and was helped by paid American activists. This recently breaking story of Russian meddling really pours salt into our wounds. According to  The Guardian's  article ,  " Russian troll factory paid US activists to help fund protests during election"   our very own turned against us.   Why does this pour salt into a wound you may ask? Well, I - like many other Americans  (I hope)  - just want some stinkin' stabilization to soon set in on our political landscape. Everywhere one turns there seems to be some sort of  -ism  or  -phobe  hanging out in the ether just waiting to be plodded into conversations so that its ubiquitous showings can continue to occur.  Right, wrong, or indifferent; it

Pragmatic Sensibility

The Persona-Politica's ability to withstand Congress' immaturity has led to some incredible incredulity of their inability to think critically. I’m sounding off like a symphony To anyone who wants to listen to me I’ll listen back and we can talk for infinity There’s too much comfort in not over-coming an inhibition That talking to someone new may actually change their minds' position Back tracking on facts Making it easier to relax Spiraling down the steps of stacks Till   they ’ve back tracked to their original attack                                     And like a broken pencil, the whole tweet is pointless. There just seems to be so much “Bipartisan stranger danger” That the dangerous stranger Is too dangerous That they harbor their anger Rather than turn the stranger to a friend Friends or foes The same story goes Around and around  And now they're gridlocked Next the words are twisted and griddled Becoming s

Wealth in a Time of Madness

Look up! It's a bird, it's a plane..it's actually the graph arrow of the stock market trending up.  I'd like to take you on a little trek in history back to early November 2016. Bridgewater Associates, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and practically every grand-standing political pundit all prognosticated massive drops in the stock market if Mr. Trump won. However, the opposite did and has continued to occur after Trump's win. As of October 2017, there is an additional two Trillion dollars in the markets - and just for a learning curve, how often do the pundits mention markets other than the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)? In addition to NYSE, there is the Chicago Stock Exchange and BATS Global Markets in Kansas - Kansas of all places! You know, the place where uninformed television talking heads would have their viewers believe to be backwooods due to Kansas being in the  dare I say it... Bible belt of the U.S.

To Think a Thought

To think a thought A psychological approach To ponder and wonder, One can assume wisdom should encroach. But if that thought that was thinked, Led to a dead-end path Should one rethink that thought? Or leave it to the trash? To truly desire wisdom, One must truly impart – A thinking thought process Combined with experience from the start. For one to ponder in wonder, Can lead to a new infusing, But if that person’s wonder starts to wander, Then that wonder’s wander may just   be confusing For this is a tale of two thoughts, not the cities this time around for a ponder’s wondering, has left wandering to the ground No this a tale of thinking, the cities were not forget for this tale of wandering, wonderings Was merely to twist a tongue in knot.
